Welcome to our Fertility Counselling service. We’re here to offer additional support to patients in need whilst receiving care in our Reproductive Medicine Unit and help you through challenging times in your reproductive health journey.

We understand there may be changes to your care and potentially difficult decisions to make along the way.

We specialise in patients who are dealing with the following reproductive health concerns:

  • Fertility treatments such as In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), gamete donation, surrogacy, and guidance toward adoption services.
  • Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) and menopause.
  • Fertility preservation concerning the reproductive effects of cancer, chronic disease, and transgender people.
  • Reproductive endocrinology issues like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), Disorders of Sexual Development (DSD), and Turner syndrome

To schedule an appointment, simply speak with any member of the Reproductive Medicine Unit (RMU) team. They will initiate your referral. Details about your appointment will be sent electronically through the MyCare healthcare app.

Further information about MyCare and registration can be found in the links below:

If you are not registered with MyCare, you will receive a letter in the mail.

  • Appointments typically last up to 50 minutes.
  • You may attend alone or with a partner (or next of kin).
  • Typically, there is only one session. However, depending on your circumstances; it is possible to schedule an additional appointment if needed using a patient-initiated follow-up (PIFU)
  • All sessions are confidential.

Reproductive Medicine Unit Counselling Service
Clinic 1, Floor-1,
EGA Wing,
235 Euston Road
NW1 2BU

Counselling offers tailored coping strategies and emotional mapping that acknowledge the unique nature of your reproductive journey.

It provides guidance on managing psychological wellbeing, helps identify specific areas of concern, and initiates the processing of emotional challenges related to discussing personal reproductive health and making treatment decisions.

You should have received an appointment letter containing the contact details of your clinic. You can make any changes to your appointment by calling or emailing the information in the letter. If you have not received a letter or you have lost it, please use the contact information on the relevant hospital contact form below.

If you have already tried to contact the team but have not received a response, please refer to the additional information below.

Our counselling service aims to address psychological concerns that may arise during your care at the RMU. However, it’s important to note that we are not an independent mental health clinic. As such, our support is limited to one session, with a potential follow-up visit if necessary.

If you are experiencing significant psychological difficulties, or have had past mental health concerns, it’s crucial to seek the appropriate support via your GP. We strongly advise consulting your GP, who can provide advice and guidance on local resources that will benefit you. Additionally, our counsellors can signpost you to specialist services that align with your specific situation.
