The Leishmaniasis Multidisciplinary Team (MDT)
The leishmaniasis MDT aims to support clinicians around the UK in the investigation and management of patients with suspected or confirmed leishmaniasis. We provide multidisciplinary care for patients at University College London Hospital (UCLH) and advisory service for patients managed at other hospitals.
The MDT includes specialists from parasitology, infectious diseases, dermatology, ENT, paediatrics, pharmacy and nursing, is supported by comprehensive diagnostics through the Parasitology Laboratory.
The monthly MDT meeting are held on the first Friday of the month from 12:00 to 1:30pm. These meetings are open to all NHS clinicians. A proforma must be completed before patients are discussed and a member of the referring team must attend the meeting. Please note all patients should be registered at UCLH for accurate documentation. Please make sure to read the Terms of Reference before referral.
Clinicians can refer patients to the MDT through uclh.
