The RAID (Rapid Access Infectious Diseases) clinic is designed for patients with suspected or confirmed recent or acute infections who do not require hospital admission but need prompt assessment and management by infectious disease specialists.
Typical patients might include:
- Individuals with unexplained fever
- Those with cellulitis
- Patients with resistant urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Some patients with unusual infections or microbiology/virology results requiring same week specialist input may be transferred to the OPAT (Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy) service for intravenous antibiotics.
