Please note this service is for adults only and cannot see children under 16 years old. If your child has returned from the tropics within the last 6 months and is experiencing symptoms such as fever, diarrhoea, or rash, please seek advice from your GP, 111 or your local emergency department (if urgent) and self-refer (or ask your GP to refer) to the Children and Young People’s Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine service

  1. Register with the clinic:

    • Email uclh.htdadmin@nhs.net with your name, date of birth, contact number, address, NHS number (if known) and a list of countries you’ve visited in the last six months, alongside any current symptoms.
  1. Await confirmation:

    • You will receive an email reply or phone call from our team to arrange your appointment. This will include a link to an online questionnaire.
  1. Complete the online questionnaire:

    • Provide information about your illness and travel history.
    • This can be done on your mobile device or computer.
    • Completing it before your visit will reduce your time at the clinic.
       
  2. Appointment timing:

    • Appointments are scheduled based on clinical urgency.
    • We aim to see all patients the same day or the following day.
       
  3. Contact hours:

    • The email address and phone number are monitored during opening hours (Monday – Friday, 9am - 4 pm).
    • For medical attention outside these hours, visit your local Emergency Department.
  4. Clinic hours:

    • The last patient is seen at 4 pm to allow time for treatment before closing.
