Elective Placements and visiting doctors at HTD : University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

The Hospital for Tropical Diseases (HTD) welcomes international and UK medical students and doctors interested in infectious diseases to join our electives/visitors programme.

Applicants must have completed at least 3 years of their medical degree. Electives last up to 4 weeks. ID and Occupational Health clearance (clearance takes up to 8 weeks, and you may be required to attend in-person for this prior to the start of the attachment).

We offer a mix of inpatient and outpatient experiences in tropical medicine and infectious diseases, along with a rich educational programme. Specialist interests may be accommodated. UCL undergraduate medical students can attend our teaching activities during term time.
