Discontinuation of MiniMed™ Mio™ Infusion sets

Medtronic are discontinuing the MiniMed™ Mio™ Infusion sets. If you are currently using MiniMed™ Mio™ infusion sets, you will need to change to an alternative infusion set before 31 March 2023. After this date, MiniMed™ Mio™ infusion sets will no longer be available.

We are suggesting that the majority of our children and young people move to the MiniMed™ Mio™ Advance. This set is designed with a pre-loaded inserter and is simpler to insert.

 What we need you to do

• UCLH have provided a blanket approval for all our children and young people to move onto the MiniMed™ Mio™ Advance.
• Medtronic should have contacted you informing you of their decision and offering additional training if required.

• Remember that the cannula fill for the MiniMed™ Mio™ Advance requires 0.6 units
• Contact the diabetes team if you want to explore other infusion sets that are compatible with your Medtronic 640 or 780 insulin pump
