At the CTOS 2024 conference in San Diego, Ariana Barradas da Silva presented the poster titled "Addressing the Gap for Symptom Control Through the Implementation of Enhanced Supportive Care at the London Sarcoma Service.”

This study, authored by Ariana Barradas da Silva, Dr Katrina M Ingley, Dr Joanna Sheppard, Caroline Williams, Dr Michaella McCoy, Lucy Billington, Dr Katy Burke, and Prof Sandra J Strauss, evaluated the integration of Enhanced Supportive Care (ESC) within outpatient sarcoma clinics.

The retrospective study reviewed 100 consecutive sarcoma patient referrals to ESC (June 2022–September 2023), showing improved symptom management, particularly pain, alongside enhanced communication with community services and holistic care delivery.

This model also eased oncology clinic workloads and fostered stronger links between sarcoma patients and community support networks.
