Professional background

Dr Nesreen Magdy is a locum consultant pathologist (urological pathology) at UCLH. Prior to taking up a consultant post at UCLH, Dr Nesreen Magdy worked as a consultant histopathologist at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS trust. From 2018 to 2021, Dr Magdy held the position of the Director of the Histopathology Department at Shefa Al-Orman Oncology Hospital (SOH), Luxor, Egypt. Dr Magdy was a lecturer and consultant of Histopathology at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Cairo University, Egypt, where she completed her training in histopathology and cytology. Dr Magdy was a PhD student at Imperial College-London (2014-2017).

Additionally, she was one of the international mentors under the RCPath’s International Trainee Support Scheme (ITSS). Dr Magdy is one of the Royal College’s Examiners in Histopathology since April 2018. Dr Magdy is the former General Secretary of the Egyptian Committee for Pathology Training (ECPT).
