Professional background
Priti Acharya is a consultant in orthodontics at the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals. She graduated BDS with Honours in 2002, from Guy’s, King's and St Thomas' Dental Institute (King's College London) and completed the MFDS RCS Eng. in 2004 and MFGDP(UK) in 2007. She undertook a house officer Post at Guy's Hospital and West Kent Community Dental Service, gaining experience in all aspects of dentistry including the management of anxious children, as well as working in general dental practice in Central London and Kent.
Thereafter, she joined the University College London / Eastman Dental Hospital to undertake on her specialist training and obtained her masters in orthodontics and membership in orthodontics in 2010. She subsequently undertook a further two years of orthodontic training at the Eastman Dental Hospital, UCLH and Kingston Hospital, Surrey where she treated complex multi-disciplinary cases and gained further experience in preparation for her consultant position.
She is involved in clinical treatment, management, teaching and research at the Eastman Dental Hospital. Her sub-specialty area of interest is hypodontia (the developmental absence of teeth) and she is the consultant orthodontist on the MDT Hypodontia Clinic; she also has an interest in dental autotransplantation.
