Professional background
Deborah Bomfim is a consultant and honorary clinical lecturer in restorative dentistry, working in the periodontology, prosthodontics and endodontics departments.
She qualified from King’s College London Dental Institute at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals. She completed dental foundation training in practice and worked at four major London teaching hospitals, before moving to the Eastman Dental Institute & Hospital, UCL/ UCLH for a masters in conservative dentistry and a five-year specialist training programme in restorative dentistry. Deborah is actively involved in teaching as well as clinical supervision of junior staff and postgraduates.
In 2020, Deborah was appointment as clinical director in dentistry at the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals.
Deborah holds several external positions including being a specialty advisor for the Royal College of Surgeons England, president of the Odontology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine (2019-2021) and president elect for the British Society of Restorative Dentistry (2022).
