Professional background
Dr Thomas Millner is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Molecular Neuropathology at the Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London, and an Honorary Consultant Neuropathologist at The Royal London Hospital (Barts Health NHS Trust) and The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (UCLH NHS Trust).
He completed a BSc in Neuroscience at the University of Sussex, followed by medical training (MBBS) at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. After foundation years and histopathology training in NHS Trusts in London and Essex, he was awarded a Clinical Research Training Fellowship (MRC/The Brain Tumour Charity) for a PhD in molecular oncology focusing on epigenetic dysregulation in glioblastoma. He was then awarded an NIHR Clinical Lectureship and undertook diagnostic neuropathology specialty training in London. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) in Neuropathology.
