Professional background
Dr Rasha Al-Qurainy is a consultant in symptom control and palliative medicine, and is clinical governance consultant lead for the service. She is part of the UCLH inpatient palliative care team, managing patients with complex cancer pain as well other symptoms encountered in cancer and non cancer diagnoses. She undertook post-graduate medical training in North London, with her specialist registrar training at centres including the Royal Free Hospital and Barts Health NHS Trust.
She was awarded her postgraduate degree from King’s College, London in 2010 and completed specialist training to become a consultant in 2012. She was awarded fellowship status by the Royal College of Physicians London in 2016. She is an accredited BMA negotiator and sits on the CNWL NHS Trust’s BMA Local Negotiating Committee.
She has numerous publications including clinical reviews in the BMJ and involvement in PANG national guideline revisions.
