Professional background

Raj Dubal is a consultant in restorative dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital and a specialist in restorative dentistry and prosthodontics.

Raj graduated from Bart’s and The Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2001. Following this, he completed several senior house officer posts across the UK in a variety of disciplines, including restorative dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral medicine, and oral surgery.

In 2008, Raj completed his mono-speciality training in fixed and removable prosthodontics at Bart’s and The Royal London Dental Hospital. He subsequently worked for a number of years in private specialist practice and as an associate specialist in prosthodontics at Bart’s and The Royal London Dental Hospital. In 2018, he completed his speciality training in restorative dentistry at St George’s and King’s Dental Hospitals in London.

Raj was appointed a substantive consultant in restorative dentistry at The Royal London Dental Hospital in 2019, where he was responsible for the oncology service and dental core training lead. In 2024, Raj was appointed as a consultant in restorative dentistry in the department of prosthodontics at UCLH.

His clinical areas of interest and expertise include the management of head and neck cancer patients, as well as the rehabilitation of patients with complex acquired and congenital dento-alveolar and oro-facial defects. He has a particular interest in prosthodontics, implantology, and endodontics.

Raj is dedicated to high-quality education delivery. He is actively involved in teaching and clinical supervision of junior staff and postgraduate students. He regularly teaches for NHS England and is an examiner for the endodontic and prosthodontic speciality exit examinations for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, as well as an examiner for the international LDS registration examination.
