Dr M Ali Abbasi

Dr Abbasi is a consultant musculoskeletal radiologist and is the lead radiologist for the multiple myeloma multidisciplinary team. He has an interest in the imaging of complex musculoskeletal pathologies including haematological malignancies and chronic rib injuries.

He undertook radiology trained at St George's Hospital, with subspecialty training in musculoskeletal imaging, including spinal imaging at Atkinson Morley Wing, and bone and soft tissue tumour imaging at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.

Prior to radiology, Dr Abbasi trained in cardiothoracic surgery and attained membership of Royal College of Surgeons. He has also worked as a management consultant in financial services.

Dr Abbasi perfoms a number of different ultrasound assessements including dynamic ultrasound, as well as interventions such as nerve blocks. He is involved in developing novel techniques in the use cryotherapy for musculoskeletal conditions.
