Professional background
Dr Evangelia Panagou has a special interest in oncodermatology; a branch of dermatology that focuses on supportive management of cancer treatment side effects that affect the skin, hair and nails aiming to improve quality of life and prevent unnecessary interruptions in cancer treatment.
In 2022, Dr Panagou set up and successfully run at UCLH an oncodermatology clinic for patients with haematological malignancies. She also has an interest in acne, paediatric dermatology, immunobullous conditions, psoriasis and skin cancer. Dr Panagou is currently undertaking a research project on acne, a chronic condition that carries a significant psychological impact, and has recently set up an acne clinic where she will address the complex medical needs of patients with acne.
Dr Panagou graduated from Bart’s and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry with a Distinction in Medical Sciences and clinical practice. Prior to this, she successfully completed a BSc Honours in Medical Sciences at University of Leeds and a Research Masters (MRes) in Biomedicine at University College London, for which she was awarded a Distinction. She also completed dermatology training at UCLH.
Dr Panagou has an active interest in research. She is published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at national and international meetings.
