Professional background
Dr Duncan Wagstaff read Graduate Entry Medicine at Oxford University, having previously studied Natural Sciences (Physics) at Cambridge University.
He trained in anaesthesia in Central London, with sub-speciality interests in obstetrics, paediatrics and perioperative medicine. He completed a PhD at UCL evaluating how data from a national clinical audit were used for local quality improvement.

Duncan is currently pursuing postdoctoral health services research at UCL. He is using mixed-methods to study quality improvement in critical care in low- and middle-income countries, healthcare inequalities in perioperative care in the UK, and the adequacy of neuraxial anaesthesia during caesarean deliveries.
