Professional background
Anil Avasthi trained at University College Medicine between 1988-93. Subsequently he worked in most emergency departments in London, prior to training as an emergency medicine specialist registrar in the North-East London Thames Region (Royal London, Whipps Cross, Whittington, Homerton, Royal Free and Harlow Hospitals). After two short stints as locum emergency medicine consultant at the Royal Free and King's College Hospitals, he was appointed consultant at University College Hospital in November 2006.
