Professional background

Miss Anouk Borg is a highly experienced consultant neurosurgeon at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and the Unit of Pituitary and Central Skull base surgery in Queen Square. 

Her specialty focus is skull base surgery in particular treating patients with pituitary adenomas, meningiomas and related sella and skull base tumours such as schwannomas, chordomas and chondrosarcomas. Endoscopic (key hole) surgery is her area of expertise as well as combined open and endoscopic skull base approaches. She also treats many other neurosurgical conditions such as colloid cysts and metastatic brain tumours . 

Miss Borg also specialises in the delivery of Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery, using high-precision radiation to treat a wide array of conditions, including brain metastasis, trigeminal neuralgia, meningiomas and pituitary tumours.

Miss Borg completed her specialist neurosurgery training at the London School of Surgery (Heath Education England). She underwent fellowship training at Oxford University hospitals, where she completed the  prestigious Royal College of Surgeons Fellowship in Endoscopic Pituitary surgery as well as the Oxford Skull base and Vascular neurosurgery fellowship. Miss. Borg  was awarded an MD in research by University College London for her clinical research on lumbar spinal stenosis and received a distinction when completing a master’s degree in Advanced Neuroimaging . She also completed a Quality Improvement Fellowship with UCL Partners where she built on her commitment to improving quality of care for patients.
