Our vaccination centre at the Business Design Centre in Islington has now closed.
UCLH once again partnered with the Business Design Centre to temporarily reopen the mass vaccination clinic there on 18 December 2021 as part of the government’s drive to offer all eligible adults a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by the end of 31 December 2021. The centre closed on 10 January at 6pm.
As part of the biggest and most successful vaccination drive in NHS history, UCLH gave nearly 34,000 boosters in December. Across the north-central London sector, more than 300,000 boosters were given in December.
In England, more than three-quarters of eligible adults have now received their lifesaving booster with that figure rising to 90% of eligible people in the 50 and over age group.
UCLH chief executive David Probert said: “On behalf of everyone at UCLH, I give my thanks to all the staff and volunteers who were involved in the incredible effort to give as many people as possible their booster, giving them the best protection against COVID-19 and especially the Omicron variant. I’d also like to say a massive thanks to the Business Design Centre and Islington Council for once again being so flexible in working with us to temporarily reopen our vaccination centre there.
“The NHS is clear that vaccination is the best protection we have against the Omicron variant. Without it, risk of serious illness remains. We know that the majority of COVID patients in intensive care are not fully vaccinated. So, if you’re not yet fully vaccinated, book yours or visit a walk-in vaccination clinic now.”
You can get your COVID jabs at our vaccination centre at Bidborough House, which is open for walk-in vaccinations (1st dose, 2nd dose and boosters) Monday–Sunday 9am–6.00pm. Book a vaccination close to you here, or find a walk-in vaccination service here.
