Huge congratulations to NCL Imaging Academy for winning an HSJ Patient Safety Award for its project ‘Clinical Simulation Training To Support And Manage A Deteriorating Patient In Both The Acute And CDC Clinical Settings’.
The initiative provides immersive group simulation training for radiographic and support worker staff to help them assess deteriorating or unwell patients with the ABCDE approach and recognise, managing, and treat anaphylaxis. It won in the Deteriorating Patients and Rapid Response Initiative of the Year category.
It is a phenomenal achievement to win an award competing with hundreds of entries nationally, in the category with the most shortlisted finalists.
The project showcases the important contribution radiographers make towards patient safety and the value of the educator role.
The award was presented by comedian Zoe Lyons at the Awards ceremony on Monday.
Our chief executive, David Probert said:
“Safety is one of our core values at UCLH, so we’re always striving to improve patient safety in any way we can. It’s great to see a UCLH team win this award for a brilliant initiative that will save the lives of patients.
“A massive congratulations to the team on this well-deserved win!”
