Newsweek has released its annual list of the best specialist hospitals in the world for 2025. Four of UCLH’s specialties have ranked in the top 10 for their fields:
Specialism | World rank |
Obstetrics and gynaecology | 3 |
Neurology | 7 |
Neurosurgery | 7 |
Urology | 10 |
Deputy chief executive, Tim Jaggard, who is acting chief executive this week, said: “I am so proud to see us, again, ranked among the world’s very best. This recognises the wealth of talent, expertise and dedication which helps us deliver excellent services, not just in these specialties, but, right across UCLH. Congratulations to all colleagues involved in this achievement.”
Newsweek, in collaboration with global market research and consumer data company Statista, formed an expert panel of medical professionals and medical journalists to assess thousands of hospitals globally for the fifth year running. The rankings also factor in accreditation data and patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs).
University College Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery also featured on Newsweek’s World’s Best Smart Hospitals again this year. This list recognises hospitals globally for their standout work in implementing new medical technologies.
