UCLH’s consultant speech and language therapist, Dr Roganie Govender, has been awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours list 2021.
Roganie received her MBE for services to Speech and Language Therapy.
“It is a privilege to receive this award. I cannot think of any contribution or achievement that has been a solo effort, so this success also belongs to all my remarkable mentors, teammates, professional colleagues and my ever-supportive friends, family and my partner” said Roganie.
UCLH chief executive Professor Marcel Levi said: “It is wonderful to hear about Dr Roganie Govender’s achievement. This award recognises her exceptional service to her profession not just in the UK, and specifically at the head and neck unit at UCLH, but also in South Africa where she studied and worked in earlier years. Please join me in congratulating Roganie on receiving this prestigious honour.”
Dr Govender is a consultant speech and language therapist and clinical academic researcher based at the head and neck academic centre at UCLH.
