Lucy Gough: Proton Beam Therapy Mural
In 2024, artist Lucy Gough was commissioned to create a mural for the waiting area of the Proton Beam Therapy department in the Grafton Way Building. Gough, who specializes in printmaking, is known for her use of graphic lines and bold colors. For this project, she designed a nature-themed mural featuring grass and circular motifs to enhance the large curved wall in the waiting area.
The mural was funded by the UCLH Cancer Fund, which aimed to make hospital visits more comfortable and reduce stress by creating a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere in the waiting rooms.
